As a head football coach, I had the privilege of working closely with Coach Zoetewey for 6 years. He was responsible for designing and implementing a strength and conditioning program for over 300 athletes.  

Coach Zoetewey is on the cutting edge of athletic training.  Our team was training with kettlebells and TRX straps before anyone in the football community had ever heard of them.  His methods are well researched and incredibly effective.  Our team got stronger, faster, and more flexible every single year. Most importantly, due to Coach Zoetewey’s methods, we saw a drastic reduction in knee and shoulder injuries.

Over the past few years, I have greatly enjoyed working with Mike. We came to know one another professionally as we both served at Valley Christian Schools, Cerritos, CA. My respect for his professionalism is strong.

Yet, because we both have a mutual interest in human motivation, physical training, general health, and nutrition we became friends outside of school. My name if Rick Gangloff and as a small school track coach, 30 +/- throwers on a track team with a total 70 +/- athletes, I need someone I can trust to manage the weight room workouts with little or no oversight.  Mike and I have been working together over the last four years and have seen the numbers of throwers qualifying for the CIF Championship meet grow each year.  

To manage the large number, I have to split my squad with half in weight room and the other half doing drills/throwing.  I have been able to trust Mike to handle all of the weight room responsibilities while I concentrate on the drills/throwing.  

Mike has been very open to suggested modifications to his scheduled workouts to meet the sport specific needs of my throwers.  He has also suggested a number of improvements that has added to team performance in areas of speed work and strengthening.  I appreciate this more than he could know as I expect a lot when it comes to my athletes.  

I am expecting great things this year as all remaining throwers are our creations as we inherited a program that was not very competitive in our league, let alone the CIF Championships.
